Cape Times Vodacom Environmental Awards 2007 - 4 September 2007

Protecting and preserving our rich heritage and resources is an important responsibility. It is important that we encourage everyone to participate in projects and initiatives that can make a difference to the environment.

Here is a wonderful opportunity for you or your organisation to participate in the Cape Times Vodacom Environmental Awards 2007. We invite you to enter noteworthy projects, which could ensure valuable recognition for your organization or for individuals/groups.

The Awards programme, formerly known as the Cape Times Centenary Awards was established in 1976. Since its inception, over 100 individuals, organisations, schools and groups have received recognition for their achievements across a wide field of conservation related activities. This year the categories are:

Urban Environment - group/organisation or individual
Natural Environment - group/organisation or individual
Environmental Education and Public Awareness
- group/organisation or individual
Youth

Are you aware of any environmental projects taking place that need to be recognised for their involvement in projects such as: greening schemes, tree planting, water purification, improvement of a community's quality of life, recycling, or clean-up programmes etc, which could make them eligible for an award. If so, please consider nominating them.
