About the Enviropaedia

The Enviropaedia

The Enviropaedia is a knowledge and network building project designed to motivate and facilitate wide scale participation in social, environmental, economic and political sustainability. The four key elements to facilitate this are:

Networking

Knowledge

Building Bridges of Understanding
By inviting a diverse range of credible Authors to write material for The Enviropaedia, this enables those with conflicting opinions to understand each others perspectives and ensures that readers are given a multi-dimensional perspective of the issues.

Empowering the individual
The Enviropaedia enables the individual to consciously use their consumer power to promote sustainability and encourages them to become a member of an environmental organisation that is relevant to their interests.

Through these four mechanisms, The Enviropaedia facilitates a co-operative synergy between individuals and organisations, encouraging a holistic and inter-disciplinary approach with a focus on solutions to common goals.

The Enviropaedia Project began by publishing its first hard copy publication in the millennium year 2000. Since then, due to the success and growing popularity of The Enviropaedia, subsequent updated and improved editions were published in 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Thanks to the moral and financial support of the Frye family, in honour of the life of Tony Frye, The Enviropaedia Online version has been created and launched on World Environment Day 5 June 2007.
