Biophile Environmental Magazine

It is a time of great change on Earth and humanity urgently needs to take heed of the messages coming through so loud and clear from nature and the numerous diseases humanity is now facing of epidemic proportion. Even though the majority of the 6.4 billion people living on Earth are unaware of the crisis that we are in, and mainstream media are addressing environmental issues more and more, apathy and ignorance still prevail. The South African government, the majority of businesses and people, especially those in a position to make meaningful changes are still motivated largely by monetary rewards which often turns to greed, and the preservation of the environment is not high on the agenda.

The majority of us have forgotten that we are part of an interconnected, interdependent system and by not living according to the laws of nature we are destroying life and the natural rhythms and systems that have taken billions of years to evolve.

It is this sense of urgency and a need to educate and provide workable solutions that has motivated us to launch BIOPHILE. There is no other magazine like it in South Africa at present, and we believe that it is not really a matter of choice: it is essential to start creating awareness amongst the masses and motivating them into action.
