Rand Water

Rand Water is one of the largest water utilities in Africa, providing bulk potable water to a population that has grown to an estimate of 12 million in Gauteng, parts of Mpumalanga, Free State and North West provinces. Its client base includes the metropolitan municipalities of Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni and thirteen other municipalities, including mines and direct industries.

With a turnover of more than R3 billion per annum, it has assets totalling R5 billion including pumping stations, purification plants, reservoirs, a farm and a heritage property. Through the establishment of Rand Water Services (Pty) Limited, Rand Water is positioning itself amongst the leaders in the industry in Africa and beyond.

Rand Water has continued to be bestowed with trust by various government departments, including the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) and Department of Environmental Affairs and Conservation as an implementing agent in various community projects aimed at improving the lives of the people.
