CONSULTANTS SOUGHT:: Waste Management Sector, South Africa - 10 September 2007
QUEHST Dynamics cc has been asked to assist a mining company to get their recycling off the ground on the following waste types and also to assist them in the writing of the Scope for Waste Recycling documents for each waste stream:
- Oil waste
- Copper
- General waste (classified under the following):
- Paper waste
- Plastic waste
- Cans
- Sorting waste on site
- Conveyor belts
- Tyres
- E-Waste
It has been specified that community development requirements be brought into the Scope for Waste Recycling documents, see below extraction from example as supplied to me by the mine:
Community Development requirements
This is deemed to be a community development project; therefore the following will be required:
- It is required that workers from the local community are to be used during the entire period of the contract.
- Benefit will be given to companies displaying local entrepreneurs in the ownership of the business.
- Price matching will be allowed where companies having the above criteria can be accommodated.
Consulting has been started on this mine on a request basis since 2001 and waste streams on the mines has been identified. A colour coding system was stated for them where containers were painted according to waste type and assitance has been provided with regard to waste removal companies. (Example of the colour coding introduced is as per attached document - Colour coding System)
