The Mauritius Oceanography Institute (MOI) is a parastatal body under the aegis of the Ministry of Ocean Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries, Shipping and Outer Islands. The main objects of the Institute are, inter alia, to foster interest in research and development in relation to oceanography and to advise Government on the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes in respect of oceanography and related aspects.
